Individual Giving
As a local charity in Northern Ireland, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to fund our vital services for heart families.
Heartfelt giving
One off donation
You can make an immediate difference by giving a one-off donation to support Children’s Heartbeat Trust by clicking donate now.
Regular donation
Alternatively, why not become a regular supporter and set up a recurring donation that suits you. This is an easy way to help us provide on going support and ensures we can plan long term into the future. Set up a regular donation HERE.
Give as you earn
Did you know you can donate through your salary before tax through payroll giving? It’s the most efficient way to donate to a cause close to your heart. As your donation is tax free a monthly donation of £10 would only cost you £8 (if you pay basic rate tax of 20%). Also by donating regularly, it means we can plan our services much more effectively for the future meaning we can help support more families who need our support.
Ask your employer or pension provider if they use a specific Payroll Giving Agent. If so, they will be able to set up a regular donation on your behalf for your chosen amount. Alternatively, you can complete our form HERE and your regular donation will be set up.
Giving in celebration
Wedding Favours
It’s the little things that can make the biggest difference, so why not make your big day extra special by making a donation in lieu of wedding favours for your guests?
We can make personalised wedding place cards for guests, who will each get their very own Children’s Heartbeat Trust badge as a memento of your special day.
We would request a donation of £1.50 per wedding favour which will go towards our support to children and young people with heart disease in Northern Ireland.
If you would like to order wedding favours, please get in touch us via our contact from and include your wedding date and approximate guest’s numbers.
Birthdays & Anniversaries
If you have a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion coming up, why not ask family and friends to donate to Children’s Heartbeat Trust in lieu of buying a gift?
By asking family and friends to make a donation to our work, you could, for example, turn a proposed £25 voucher into a piece of sensory equipment which can be used by our play specialist on Clark Clinic.
To acknowledge your support, we can provide you with personalised cards or donation envelopes which can be inserted into your invitations informing family and friends of your decision to support Children’s Heartbeat Trust.
Fundraising in memory
Donation in lieu of flowers
One way to celebrate the life of a loved one is to ask family and friends to make a charitable donation in lieu of funeral flowers. Many funeral directors will be happy to facilitate this on your behalf by collecting donations in lieu of flowers, handling the administration and passing on your donations. We can also accept donations directly from a loved one’s family. All gifts received in memory will be acknowledged to the family as soon as possible.
Legacies
Leaving a gift in your will is the most meaningful donation you can give. This will ensure than even when you’re gone, you can still continue to make a difference to local children and young people with heart disease. Should you be interested in leaving a legacy donation, we advise that you speak to your solicitor about drawing up your will or making an amendment to an existing will to include Children’s Heartbeat Trust. Please also inform your family of your decision.
When including a legacy donation in your will, you will need to consider how much you wish to leave and by which means. You may choose to leave a residuary donation – all or a proportion of your estate; a pecuniary donation which is a fixed sum of money or a specific possession like an antique or painting. Your solicitor will be able to advise you on all aspects of a legacy donation and ensure the wording of your will is accurate and legal.
Gift Aid
Your donation to Children’s Heartbeat Trust could go further with gift aid at no extra cost to you. With Gift Aid, charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate from HM Revenue & Customs. All UK taxpayers are eligible to gift aid their donations. It costs you nothing as long as you have paid Income Tax or Capital Gains Teas at a rate at least equal to the amount of Gift Aid claimed on your donations in that tax year.
So a donation of £25 can go further by being turned into £31.25 at no extra cost to you. (£25 plus £6.25 gift aid).
When you next donate online, simply select the gift aid box if you are a UK Taxpayer, and we can do the rest! Alternatively, you can complete our gift aid declaration form HERE.
When you sign up to gift aid your donation, we can add Gift Aid to donations you’ve made to us in the last four years and will continue to gift aid donations you make in the future unless you inform us of any changes.

How your money helps
As a local charity, we rely on voluntary donations to support families in Northern Ireland affected by congenital heart disease (CHD), from diagnosis to recovery and beyond. CHD affects around 200 babies annually, and your generosity funds vital services that make a real difference in their lives.
could provide play equipment for a child receiving in-patient care.
could help fund local family support events across Northern Ireland, bringing families together for peer support.
could support ten families with financial assistance when travelling outside of NI for their child’s life saving heart surgery.
