Hays Travel Northern Ireland has proudly announced that it has chosen Children’s Heartbeat Trust as its official Charity of the Year.
The partnership will see Hays Travel NI staff and their branches across the region take part in a range of fundraising activities and initiatives throughout the year to support children and young people living with congenital heart disease (CHD) and their families.
Hays Travel is the UK’s largest independent travel agent. With 24 branches across Northern Ireland, Hays Travel NI is committed to supporting local communities through fundraising, sponsorships and partnerships with local charities.
Hays Travel regional sales manager, Nicola Allison, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with the Children’s Heartbeat Trust for our Local Community Partnership programme.
“Each Hays Travel branch is provided with a £500 budget to use for fundraising and charity work in their local area, and this year, our 24 shops in Northern Ireland have decided to work together to raise as much money as possible for Children’s Heartbeat Trust.
“The teams are busy planning a whole host of fundraising events which will take place across the year, from book sales and coffee mornings to pub quizzes and much more.”
For over 40 years, Children’s Heartbeat Trust has provided emotional, practical, and financial support to children and young people living with CHD and their families. From antenatal diagnosis through to adulthood, their work complements the world-class medical care delivered by clinical teams, ensuring families receive holistic, wraparound support. Without Children’s Heartbeat Trust, 200 new families per year would face the often terrifying, lonely, and financially challenging journey of raising a child with congenital heart disease on their own.

In 24/25 we provided emotional bedside support to 273 children and their families and granted over £90,000 in vital financial support to families facing long term hospital stays or travelling outside of Northern Ireland for life saving cardiac care.
The funds and awareness raised through this partnership will make a huge difference in the support we can provide to children living with congenital heart disease and their families now and those coming along in the future.”
